The premiere edition of the Festival 84, held from March 15th to 18th, 2018 at Jahorina, has echoed strongly in Europe, immediately classifying it among the world’s largest winter festivals with a total visit of over 20,000 people! At the place where the Winter Olympics were held in 1984, a flame was burning again, which was lit up by legendary Yugoslav skier Bojan Krizaj lit up with the original Olympic torch. The newest member of the great Exit festival family at the world’s most important festival competition, the European Festival Awards (EFA) has been nominated in three categories, for the best new festival, the best festival of up to 10,000 visitors per day, as well as the best indoor festival! The current holder of the title for the best European festival, EXIT, won the grand prix for 2013, while the Exit Sea Dance Festival, held in Montenegro, won the award for the best festival of up to 40,000 visitors for 2014, and very this year, Exit’s festivals have a total of eight nominations at the upcoming European Festival Awards!
In addition to three nominations for Festival 84, in the race for the “Best Festival of up to 40,000 visitors per day”, there are three festivals organized by EXIT team, Istrian Sea Star Festival, Budva Sea Dance, Romanian Revolution, as well as Georgian Echowaves, a festival supported by EXIT team.
Voting for the European Festival Awards began on Thursday and will continue until November 30th. It is voted through this link by choosing Festival 84 in “Best New Festival”, “Best Small Festival” and “Best Indoor Festival” category
Festival 84 will compete in the category of the best new festival with events like Georgian Echowaves powered by EXIT, Arcadia London and Rolling Stone Park. The new Exit Snow Festival is in the category of the best festival of up to 10,000 visitors with B My Lake, Annie Mac Presents: Lost & Found and Lisboa Dance Festival, while for the best indoor festival it competes with Metal Hammer Paradise, Hellfest and 16 others. With the votes of a professional jury, made up of prominent individuals in the music industry, audience votes around the world will decide on the final order of this year’s candidates. Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony at the opening of the Eurosonic Noorderslag Festival in Groningen, Holland, on January 16, 2019.
