JAVORINA MOUNTAINEERING ASSOCIATION FROM PALE IN COOPERATION WITH OLYMPIC CENTER OF JAHORINA HAS GREAT PLEASURE TO INVITE YOU TO THE FIRST “JAHORINA ULTRA TRAIL”, WHICH WILL BE ORGANIZED ON THE OLYMPIC MOUNTAIN ON 1-2 AUGUST 2015.

Jahorina Ultra Trail is designed as a two-day event. The race will take place on the trails of various lengths. We would like to attract both amateurs and professional runners who achieve remarkable results in the field trail running.

The race route will connect Jahorina with other parts of the country. The finish line is the same location on Jahorina while starting lines are at different locations. The following track lengths and their starting positions are planned:

MiNi: 10 km, approx 600m climb, start and finish on Jahorina;

MiDi: 34 km, approx 1200m climb, start at Baščaršija, finish on Jahorina;

MaXi: 50 km, approx 2000m climb, start on Romanija, finish on Jahorina;

UltRa: 111 km, approx 4000m climb, start at Višegrad, finish on Jahorina.

Starting locations have been carefully selected to include tourist destinations and significant features of cultural and historical heritage through the whole trail path: Baščaršija, Goat’s Bridge, narrow-gauge railway route Sarajevo-Višegrad, archaeological excavations in the area of Glasinac and necropolis and tombstones locations near Rogatica, Andrićgrad and the Mehmed Paša Sokolović Bridge in Visegrad, which is protected by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.

The complete path goes through natural environment of exceptional beauty and diversity. There are mountains Ivica, Sjemeć, Tmor, Romanija, Ravna planina, Trebevic, the area of Glasinac and Sjemeć, Sarač fields, canyons of Rakitnica, Pale and Mokro Miljacka, the Bistrica spring, spreading from Višegrad and Sarajevo to Jahorina.
