The “Jahorina 2020 Trophy”, a competition in snow volleyball, will be held on Saturday, February 1, from 10.00 o’clock, on the Poljice plateau, where a snow volleyball court will be set up.
The tournament at the Jahorina Olympic Center will be organized by volleyball clubs and the Pale Refereeing Board, with the support of the Republika Srpska Volleyball Federation, the Municipality of Pale, the City of East Sarajevo and the Jahorina Olympic Center and many other social and economic entities.
This tournament, which is being held for the first time, will feature about 50 competitors, 15 referees and volunteers.
Snow volleyball is a sport that is conquering the planet with its content and popularity. It is increasingly being promoted in the world and in Europe, attracting the increasing attention of volleyball and sports fans in general. The main objective of the organization of promotional tournaments is related to the intention that in the future snowball will gain the status of an Olympic sport and to appear at some of the next Winter Olympic Games. So volleyball would become the first sport in history to be played at both the Winter and Summer Olympics.
