The World Environment Day has been marked on Jahorina by a record number of cleaning participants. Nearly 1,000 participants today, June 5, have sent a message from Jahorina to the world about the commonality and importance of preserving and protecting the environment. The cleaning action of this mountain is just one of the steps that the Olympic Center is undertaking with the goal of spreading environmental awareness, which is confirmed by the most numerous participants in the action, students, children from primary and secondary schools, and those youngest from kindergartens who have been collecting waste all day. Participants divided into 16 sectors collected garbage, cut trees and bushes along the roads, removed stones off the trails, mowed grass, cleaned the promenade, washed the streets, and thus gave Jahorina something great.
Mass action for cleaning of the mountain was initiated by the Olympic Center Jahorina and it was carried out with the support of the Ministry of Trade and Tourism, hotel keepers and owners from Jahorina, Pale Municipality, Trnovo, East Sarajevo, East Ilidza, kindergartens and primary schools, public and utility companies Euro Beta from Banja Luka, which donated the necessary props for the realization of the action.
As a sign of gratitude, for all participants and visitors on the mountain, the Olympic Center Jahorina have organized Nataša Bekvalac concert, which will be held in Koliba Termah Hotel starting at 19:00. Entrance to the concert will not be charged. The Olympic Center Jahorina announced similar actions in the future period, and expressed their gratitude to all the participants for taking part and support, but also great satisfaction with the massiveness and success of this action.
