Along with the realization of a very successful summer, preparations for the winter season are taking place on Jahorina. Their priority in the coming season is to welcome skiers with the best groomed trails so far, so in accordance with that, intensive work is being done on their preparation. The trails have already been widened, softened, adjusted the slopes and drained in the earlier period. Now, the last phase is underway, which includes the removal and grinding of stone, complete leveling of the substrate at a depth of 15 to 20 cm with special machinery that “irons” all earth and stone unevenness to the smallest fractions. Already leveled paths are hummed and then grassing is done, so far about 7,000 m3 of humus material has been implemented. We are sure that skiers will enjoy skiing more this winter than ever on ideally prepared trails and skiing will be possible on minimal amounts of snow.
On Jahorina, works are underway on the rehabilitation of a part of the regional road on the section Bistrica-Podgrab, 2,250 meters long. This project of Roads of RS in cooperation with the Olympic Center Jahorina will contribute to greater satisfaction of all users of the services of this center.
With the support of the municipality of Pale, the lighting of the 4,200-meter-long route leading to the Olympic Bar was done, thus enabling visitors to enjoy a walk on the most beautiful trail on the mountain. The advantage of lighting this route is great, and since these are modern lamps, no negative impact on the environment and flora is expected.
In the days of the pandemic, the Jahorina Olympic Center is a refuge for an increasing number of visitors. The mountainous expanse and untouched nature on the one hand and the excellent offer of adrenaline attractions on the other hand have placed this mountain in one of the most desirable destinations this summer. A record visit was recorded last weekend, which is also expected this coming weekend. In accordance with the requirements of the users of the services of this center, all summer facilities will be available to visitors with extended working hours from 9:00 to 19:00 in the period from 27 to 30 August.
