The director of the Jahorina Olympic Center, Dejan Ljevnaic, and the president of the supervisory board, Nedeljko Elek, met today in Banja Luka with the Prime Minister of Republika Srpska, Radovan Viskovic, the Minister of Finance in the Government of Republika Srpska, Zora Vidovic and the Minister of Trade and Tourism Suzana Gasic. The meeting was also attended by representatives of TechnoAlpin, SACE, Bartholet Maschinenbau AG and TFA SA, which are involved in the new investment cycle in Jahorina.
Prime Minister Radovan Viskovic welcomed the intention of these companies to invest in the development of OC “Jahorina” and pointed out that the Government will provide all available support to interested investors, with the aim of further development and improvement of Jahorina, as one of the most beautiful and attractive tourist destinations in Republika Srpska.
Currently, works on new projects are underway on Jahorina, the largest investment of which is the Gondola Poljice, with the latest technology, lighting effects, the latest cabins and an increased capacity of 3,600 skiers per hour. Two six-seater cars are being built, works on the construction of six-seater cars in the Rajska Dolina have already started, and it is planned to move the six-seater Poljica installation to Trnovo, as well as to build two ski lifts for the Downhill track where the Olympic competition was held. Work has already begun on the construction of a new snowmaking system on 7 km of ski trails, and the existing trails will be additionally arranged and grassed. Fans of night skiing will surely be happy with the project of the illuminated Novak Đoković trail 1,000 m long, which will further expand the offer in the evening to a total of 5 km of ski trails for night skiing. Work has begun on the construction of a large zip line across the lake, but also with the expansion of the terrace of the Olympic Bar. The plan is to modernize the departure and exit station of the famous two-seater Ogorjelica and build a completely new parking system that will contribute to better functioning on the mountain. With the realization of these investments, Jahorina will be more ready for the new winter season than ever.
The Prime Minister Radovan Višković reminded that the previous investments of the Government of the Republic of Srpska in OC Jahorina have given excellent results in the development of its infrastructure, as well as accommodation capacities.
